Our History

Rehab on the Move was founded in 1997

Kate Loxton had been working in hospital rehabilitation settings since graduating as an Occupational Therapist in 1984. She was passionate about following up her clients in the community after discharge from hospital.  Kate’s vision was to provide people the option of a private inter-disciplinary rehabilitation team comprising of:

  • Occupational therapists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Speech pathologists

Joan Steele-Mills, a Physiotherapist with an extensive background in neurological rehabilitation joined the Rehab on the Move team in 1998. Joan was as equally passionate as Kate regarding the need to provide people with an accessible rehab team that got results.  Joan became a director in 2001. Since 1997, over 15000 people have benefited from the experience of the Rehab on the Move team. As directors Kate and Joan are proud that over 70% of their clients are referred by satisfied customers.

Starting in the lounge room of Kate’s home in Lindfield, the Rehab on the Move team moved into their current rooms in Pymble in 2005. Kate and Joan have established a rehab gym to enable clients to easily access specialised equipment if required. Rehab on the Move has become a practice well respected by its clients, community organisations, government organisations, solicitors and insurers. Kate and Joan are committed to growing the services of Rehab of Move to provide for the rehabilitation needs of our clients and community.
